Claiming Compensation for Accidents on Motorcycles
Accidents change the lives of many people in the snap of a finger. They disrupt the normal routine and make ugly impacts on several people. The worst part of accidents is getting into the vicious cycle of accident claims. Accident claims are of two types 1) Third party insurance claims, 2) comprehensive insurance claims. It is very essential that everyone is well aware of all the intricacies of accident insurance policies and claims. There are many insurance companies in the country but, some companies only specialize in vehicle insurance whereas many of them deal with several other kinds of insurances as well. According to the road statistics that are evaluated in the year 2010 there were a total of 2, 22,146 number of road accidents in the year 2009. These accidents include minor as well as serious accidents which have resulted in fatalities. Though the survey showed that the number of accidents per year has reduced nominally compared to the year 2008, this number is a really alarming number. There are very few insurance companies in the Country that are running in profits. All the insurance companies in the UK have to be certified by the Financial Services Agency. That is they need to take the license for issuing insurance policies to motorcyclists and car owners from the authority called the Financial Services Agency. The insured person will also benefit from this authority as he will be reimbursed by this agency in case the insurance Company does not pay on his or her authentic claim. Insurance companies in some cases might suddenly announce that they are not working. In such cases the Financial Service Agency will take the responsibility. The third parties in such cases can avail 100% claims where as the insurer will also be eligible to claim some part of the damage expenses done to his own vehicle. Foreign vehicles which travel on the roads of UK are also covered under some insurance norms. All vehicles which have European registration and have insurance policies with their native Country will be covered by their own third party norms. But, their native insurer would have a tie up with some UK based automobile insurance agency which will take up the matter in case of a claim. People who have foreign vehicles should contact their insurers to know in detail the exact procedure of claims in UK and also the conditions of an accident which make them eligible to make a comprehensive accident insurance claim. According to the judiciary norms of the Country all motor vehicle or car vehicle owners should at least have a third party insurance policy. Without this driving is prohibited in UK. Third party insurance alone though would only protect the other vehicle which has been hit by the vehicle of the insurance holder. The insurance holders give something called an insurance bonus every year to people who have not claimed any insurance amount that year or any of the previous years. When a person claims for accident insurance, that moment on he or she would not be eligible for insurance bonus, on further renewal of the automobile insurance policy. In the actual scenario the amount of insurance bonus given to an insured person decreases with the severity of the claim. That is if a person claims for minor amount then the insurance bonus would not be completely nullified. Instead it would be reduced by some percentage. But, in any circumstances the policy holder can always litigate the matter with the insurance agency. On proper justification and proof, insurance claims can cover the actual damage rendered to the third party or both the parties indulged in the accident, in case of comprehensive insurance policies. |
